| Alan's
Abits, the old trio from the early nineties, comprising of Alan, Markus
Apitius and Thomas Kaerner, is playing together again and recording tracks
for the new album "Traveller's Tales". There are plans to present the album together in autumn, when there will be a short tour of the UK and some dates to present the new material in Cologne. The set will be built around Alan's songs, old and new. In the past, the set has included a few covers of songs by writers as diverse as John Martyn, Bob Dylan and Shel Silverstein. The distinctive harmony sound has always proved popular, as has the virtuoso guitar and mandoline playing of Thomas Kaerner. Along with the well rehearsed music and routines, there has always been a lot of spontaneous madness onstage. You never know just what Alan is going to slip into a lyric, or where Thomas is going to insert another one of his musical jokes. Alan and Thomas may one day grow up and control their urge to constantly try to "corpse" the other onstage. Don't bank on it happening soon though! It is an entertaining show, with plenty to sing along to. Keep an eye on the gig list! |
